There is always a story related to an artwork. Whether is relevant or not is another subject.
I've experienced how much your perception about a piece of art can change once you know the context, circumstances and artist approach involved in the artwork production.
As a self taught illustrator I try to keep myself updated not only by training my drawing skills but also by learning about art history, artist's life, their experiences and art movements. Besides the professional advantages of such intellectual activity there is also a personal benefit: every time you approach to a work of art you have a more comprehensive experience.
Some of the illustration I've done have a story behind which certainly add a different perspective to the viewer. For that reason I sometimes include a brief description with the illustrations, not as egocentric impulse but as a way to improve your experience wile you navigate through my gallery.
I hope you enjoy it and remember, your feedback is always welcome.
